Heat 1

 

At the start 3 abreast into the first corner, Fordham comes through from 4th to lead. Pole man Beckenham goes back to 3rd. into the 1st hairpin Friend is giving Fordham no leeway and into hanger Friend takes the lead.

Lap 2 Fordham retakes the lead and starts to pull a gap Beckenham retakes Friend for 2nd.

Lap 3 as they cross the line Fordham has a 2.5 second lead. Gilbert is hot on the exhaust of Beckenham, Brittain overtakes Dickinson around the outside (go Rog) Bent goes onto the grass and recovers.

Lap 4 Beckenham’s kart set up is not working, handling terrible, and Gilberts looking for a way past.

Lap 5 Fordham has a 4 second lead. Gilbert Brittain & Bryn Green pass a struggling Beckenham. 

 

Heat 2

 

From pole, Weatherley takes an early lead on lap 2. Bent & Otway have a coming together. Francis has made up 4 places to 2nd                       Lap 3 Weatherley, Francis, Bryn Green, Day, Beckenham & Fordham

Lap 4 Francis takes Weatherley for the lead, Weatherley has a go back but out brakes himself. While these two have a go with each other down into hanger Bryn Green goes through into 1st followed by Francis, Beckenham & Fordham.

3 Laps to go Green has a huge lead with the field battling behind Fordham takes Beckenham for 3rd.Weatherley finished 12th after having his power valve dislodged

And the motor had no bottom end power.

 

Heat 3

 

Nice slow start from pole man Reynolds was not anticipated from the pack behind and at the first bend Bent, Beckenham, Brittain, Day, Pasterfield & Friend all off at the start.

Otway took a nice comfortable lead from the field followed by Rogers, Francis, & Weatherley. Bent all over the back of a troubled Beckenham. Francis takes Rogers.

Rogers and Weatherley go through to take Francis who is forced to retire with a rad off & bent chassis. 

3 laps to go, Otway, Fordham, Weatherley, Rogers & Beckenham.   2 laps to go Fordham takes Rogers although Rogers has a go back Fordham makes it stick.

That would be the finishing order although Weatherley was excluded due to a disqualification.

 

Final

 

Fordham takes poll. Into the first section of infield Rogers gets tagged & DNF’s

With 9 laps to go Fordham has a 2 second lead over Brittain then 2 kart lengths over Friend.

Weatherley takes a look up the inside of Day. Beckenham has a badly bent rear bumper and it could upset the handling of the kart. 8 laps to go Fordham still has a comfortable lead of 2.5 seconds but Friend is gaining on Brittain with Green 4th, Gilbert 5th. Weatherley trying to sell a dummy and trying all different lines to get through.

Meanwhile with 7 laps to go Friend gets past for 2nd.

Green also takes Brittain for 3rd, Weatherley gets past Dickinson only to be retaken on the exit. Weatherley still trying extreme lines and lets Otway through.

4 laps to go and Dickinson is driving a very defensive line backing up Weatherley, Otway & Day. Weatherley goes through followed by Day but Otway can’t get a run.

3 laps to go now its Otway trying obscure lines to get past Dickinson who is now playing with his power valve to squeeze more out of his motor.

Everyone held there positions for the last laps

1st Fordham, 2nd Friend, 3rd B Green, 4th Brittain & 5th Gilbert.
