Round 3 Rowrah
A trip that involved 400 mile’s for most competitors saw 18 of the 35 registered drivers attend. We had arranged to hire the circuit exclusive for Dadson Masterson the Friday & even then on our arrival it was clear why a club like this would be bestowed with “The Club of the Year.”
Despite inclement weather the weekend was very enjoyable. At Drivers briefing Nick Rogers won the tyre draw, John Weatherley picked up his “Driver of the day” award from the previous round at Clay & promptly offered it to Graham Fagg who suffered injures at clay.
We are happy to report Graham is on the road to recovery now and will be at the next round spannering.
Heat 1
Kerr led every lap to take the win followed by Wooder, Friend, Beckenham & Fordham.
Heat 2
Wooder led every lap to take the win from Beckenham followed by Rogers & Fordham.
Heat 3
Fordham led every lap to win from Wooder who was in 11th position at the end of lap 1 followed home by team mate Kerr then Friend & Pasterfield.
For The Final
Pole position went to Wooder, P2 Fordham. Row 2 was Kerr & Beckenham Row 3 saw Rogers & Friend Row 4 was Francis & Fairbrass with Newcomer Dickenson behind. (Not mentioned in the heats but Dickenson is a Novice) & with the fastest laps going to Francis, Rogers & Friend it would seem the quick guys are not at the front. At the first chicane Fordham is on the outside and gets taken wide, Wooder keeps his lead & Kerr comes through to 2nd by mid race the field is even spread but some positions were still to be decided. The weather may have been to blame for some with wet air boxes or the wrong jet choice but Kerr was fading as was Wooder. Having none of those problems was Friend or Dickenson. Friend passing Wooder on the penultimate lap to beat Wooder followed by NOVICE Dickenson next to take the flag was Rogers & Francis.
Fastest Lap 58.67 Richard Friend
Driver of the day Antony Dickenson
