Round six Dadson Masters Lydd
After five rounds of the 2007 dadson masters its time for the series to return to its roots at the Interlargos of karting, KKRC played host to 24 competitors and saw Norman Day win the tyre draw.
Heat 1
On the approach to take start lights Brittain hit a cone & sent it upwards all
drivers behind trying to avoid it.
After the confusion Gilbert, Jones, Day & Churchill were off at the start line all to recover except Day.
Meanwhile after a couple of laps Rogers taking a comfortable lead with Kerr & Wooder in hot pursuit albeit 50 yds behind.
Weatherley is driving around with hand raised but goes past the pits so has he got a problem or not?
The vast experience of Francis, sails by
Beckenham hesitates, and looses a place while Friend gets collected. Don’t know why Weatherley is driving round with raised hand but the CoC wants a word with all Masters drivers explaining to these veterans there is not such a thing as DNF anymore, “non” finishers would be counted as last finishers on a roll back of laps basis.
Wooder caught & took the lead from Rogers (who took fastest lap)
After all this confusion, Wooder finished 1st, Rogers 2nd & Kerr 3rd.
HEAT 2
Brittain on pole with Reynolds in P2 saw possibly the best start we have ever witnessed in the dadson series.
In the 1st lap Friend & Fordham came through to 2nd & 3rd respectively. On lap 2 Friend made a move on Brittain over the jump & into the horseshoe with a breathtaking manoeuvre that was as clean as a whistle. Hats off to Brittain for conceding and not turning in or chopping his nose off.
This heat would finish with Friend 1st, Fordham 2nd & Brittain 3rd
Heat 3
Saw Weatherley take lights to flag victory followed by Francis & Wooder who had come off P3 & P7 respectively.
Final
Wooder took Pole & lights to flag victory. From lap 2 & up until lap 7, Friend & Fordham would exchange places several times but in the end Friend who at times was all over the exhaust of Wooder would be the victor.
Francis behind this battle waiting to pounce from lap 8 held 4th to the finish followed by Beckenham & Fairbrass.
1st Wooder, 2nd Friend, 3rd Fordham, 4th Francis. 5th Beckenham & 6th Fairbrass. Driver of the day, Jay Fairbrass.
